Patrick Mahomes is an American football quarterback with a very supportive wife. With his skills and hard work, he was named NFL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in his second season in 2018; he also won the award in 2022. Additionally, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback led his team to victory in the Super Bowl in 2019 and 2022.

The roots of their love started back in March 2012 when Mahomes, the now-two-time Super Bowl MVP, was a sophomore, and Matthews, the now-IG star, was a junior at Whitehouse High School.
The two were close friends until Mahomes got the courage to get out of the “friend zone.” He sent a Valentine’s Day card partnered with a rose to Matthews, who just started playing soccer back then.
As a result, the two were each other’s prom dates in their senior year in May 2013. Years passed and they kept their romance alive despite attending different colleges. The soon-to-be Chiefs quarterback joined Texas Tech University from 2014 to 2017. Meanwhile, his girlfriend sharpened her talents at the University of Texas from 2013 to 2017. The two were already striving for their dreams even when they were young.
Chapter 2: The Path to Their Careers
Mahomes entered the National Football League (NFL) back in April 2017. His current team, the Chiefs, picked him as their first-round pick and the 10th overall pick in the NFL draft.
The two were thrilled by this news, with Matthews sharing her excitement on her Instagram. She instantly became a Chiefs fan to cheer for her loving boyfriend.

Chapter 3: Building a Family
With their careers fully blooming at a young age, the two immediately started saving up to prepare for what’s ahead. Eventually, after two seasons with the Chiefs, the sweet couple bought a home in Kansas City. The two-million-dollar house had three bedrooms, three baths, a home gym, and a pool, according to sources. The huge building was theirs to keep by May 2019.
It wasn’t long before Mahomes made his next move. After being together for eight years, the American football star proposed to his loving girlfriend in September 2020. He made sure to make the evening special as he brought Matthews to a VIP box at the Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City. The night sky was decorated with a glowing sign that read, “Will You Marry Me?”
The good news wasn’t over for the happy couple. In the same month, the two announced the news of their first child on Matthew’s Instagram. It featured a sweet photo of the newly engaged couple as they held a sonogram of their baby.
Fans couldn’t help but bombard the new mom and dad with congratulations messages in the comment section. They even held a gender reveal in October.
By February 21, 2021, Matthews shared with the world the birth of their daughter Sterling Skye Mahomes, on her Instagram. The newborn firmly gripped her tiny fingers around her mom and dad’s. Additionally, the photo included the brand-new mom wearing a necklace that spells their daughter’s name.
Chapter 4: Vows til the end of time
As they continued their story, by March 12, 2022, the two officially took their vows and became husband and wife. The wedding took place in Hawaii with their family and friends there to celebrate. With that, Brittany Matthews is now officially Brittany Mahomes.
Of course, the two took the opportunity to express their love by going on a romantic honeymoon three days after the wedding, which was March 15.
Diving deeper into the exciting get-away, Matthews revealed weeks after that they celebrated in a tropical location in Maui named St. Barts. Romance filled the air during their travels as their plane’s windows were decorated with fake candles and beautiful rose petals.
After some time, Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany posted another huge announcement. The celebrity-athlete couple made headlines by revealing they are having a second baby in May 2022.
Patrick and Brittany showed their love for their daughter over the years. In June 2022, the family celebrated Fall by going to a pumpkin patch with their first child. It goes to show that they’re ready to have a second one.
Eventually, in November 2022, Mrs. Mahomes gave birth to Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III. His big sister is already excited to meet him.
A Netflix Documentary
Since then, the couple has been living their fullest lives after overcoming unsaid hardships. Fans can watch their love story unfold in episode one of Netflix’s Quarterback docuseries. The show premiered on July 12.
In the documentary, the couple had a great time recalling the moment that started it all.
