Arsenal is on a dreadful start to the 21-22 season in Premier League. After three fixtures, Arsenal is at the rock bottom of Premier League standings with zero points. To make things worse, Arsenal has a -9 goal difference, scoring zero goals. Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is aware of how bad the situation is for the Gunners.
Aubameyang played 59 minutes in Arsenal's 5-0 loss to Manchester City. For the first time since 1954, Arsenal has started the league season with three consecutive losses. In the season opener, Arsenal lost 2-0 to the newly-promoted Brentford team.
Awful results have put coach Mikel Arteta on a hot seat. However, Arteta says that the team had no choice but to attack after conceding an early goal. Aubameyang revealed that the squad needs to communicate honestly before getting over the terrible slump after the match.
"Today it wasn't enough, and against a team like City, even when it is 11 against 11, you have to take risks and be brave on the ball, and we didn't today," he told BT Sport.
"After the red card, it was a different game, but this is not enough, and everyone has to raise the level, work harder as a team and stick together. This is the only way to go forward.
We have to play with courage. This type of game, we have to play with everything and take risks, but we just didn't do enough today. I think we have to talk between us players, and I think this is important because we are Arsenal, and we have to show our wounded pride. We have to talk, and say the truth between each other, be honest, and raise the level."Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Looking forward, Arsenal is facing Norwich City on the 11th of September. Understandably, Arsenal fans will hope their poor run will finally be snapped. Fortunately for the Gunners, Norwich has also lost three consecutive league games.
