Filming for season 2 of HBO’s hit series, The Last of Us, is finally underway. With fans of the series and video games waiting in anticipation, four key castings have been made about the series going forward.

Danny Ramirez, Ariela Barer, Tatti Gabriella, and Spencer Lord have officially joined the cast for season 2. These four will join Kaitlyn Dever (Abby) who was announced earlier this year.

Ramirez will be playing Manny, who is a loyal soldier and friend in the video game. Meanwhile, Barer will play Mel. Mel is a young doctor who struggles to protect those around her in a complex and nuanced world.

Gabriella will be playing Nora, who is a military medic and friend of Abby. Lastly, Lord will play Owen, who has a close relationship with Abby that intertwines him with the rest of his faction.

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay will also be back as Joel and Ellie. A release date at this point is still very much in question. However, we will likely know more as filming continues to progress.

As things stand, it would be realistic for fans to anticipate season 2 releasing sometime in 2025. With the recent success of season 1, people will be patiently waiting to see the next chapter of The Last Of Us.

Neil Druckmann has hinted at The Last of Us 3 coming out at some point in the foreseeable future. However, he only said that this was an idea that hasn’t had a lot of real progress made on it. It would be an interesting approach to make the third installment another season instead of making a third game.
