Soccer Star Jadon Sancho Shows Solidarity With George Floyd

This past Sunday, international footballing phenom Jadon Sancho celebrated a goal in a unique fashion. He revealed a message in support of George Floyd.

Floyd, the latest victim to police brutality in America, died May 26 after being violently detained by police in Minneapolis.�

The Borussia Dortmund winger was dominant in a 6-1 thrashing of Paderborn in the Bundesliga. Sancho lifted his shirt to reveal his message after scoring his first goal of the match.

Reading �Justice for George Floyd�, Sancho�s message drew the eyes of viewers around the world. Fellow teammate Achraf Hakimi donned the same phrase on his shirt following his goal in the same match.

In addition to Sancho and Hakimi, Bundesliga players Marcus Thuram and Weston McKennie similarly vouched against police brutality.�

Thuram took a knee after a goal while the American McKennie wore an armband reading �Justice For George�.

Following the game, Sancho took to Instagram saying �We shouldn’t fear speaking out for what’s right, we have to come together as one & fight for justice.�
