Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard is not happy after learning he can’t vote this year.

Leonard and his wife, Kayla Michelle Leonard filled out their voter application for their absentee ballots. After submitting their applications, the Dillon County voting office told them they were too late.

Leonard went to Twitter to express his anger on this topic, and explained how everyone he contacts won’t help.

Also, both Leonard and his wife could have voted for just the second time in their life for the general election. In addition, Leonard turned 25 in July and had just turned 21 at the time of the 2016 general election.

The NFL’s Movement to Help Voters

Recently, NFL teams worked with the NFL to try and register all players to vote. Due to this, they created a site called NFL Votes, which can be found on NFL.com. There are various articles about voting on the page and different tips on how to register to vote.

Also, the NFL and NFLPA had each team learn who signed up to vote on November 3rd. After getting the results, they learned that 90% of active NFL players registered to vote.

Other sports as well have worked towards getting all players registered to vote. Also, of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chris Paul managed to help players in the NBA register to vote.

Hopefully, by the time November 3rd comes around, 90% of voters in the NFL are able to vote successfully.

Leonard’s Return

On another note, for Leonard, he’s dealt with injury the past couple of weeks and is now back on the active roster.
