Sony or Arrowhead seems to have fired a Helldivers 2 community manager for siding with the customers. During the chaos of last week’s Sony requiring players to create a PSN account to continue playing, this community manager encouraged disgruntled customers to review the game on Steam negatively.

Helldivers 2 Community Manager Expresses His Regrets

The players might have won the war, but there were casualties during the pushback against Sony. One of these is a Helldivers 2 community manager on their official Discord. A player named “Spitz” seemingly lost his “community manager” tag within the server. This was shortly after Sony backed off on the ordeal.

When another user talks about Spit being demoted, he responds, “Generally it’s not a good idea to tell people to refund and leave negative reviews when you’re a community manager. TIL”

However, he confirms that he knew the repercussions of his actions. It is pretty clear you’d get more than a slap on the wrist if you encourage players to negatively review your company’s game.

He thanked his fellow divers for their support and reaffirmed his happiness with the change in the PSN account policy.

He even goes as far as to say he’d do it again in a heartbeat. Siding with the people is what got him the position of community manager in the first place. As such, it garnered more respect from fellow Helldivers for him.

Helldivers 2 Has Recovered But Not Fully

Helldivers 2 had quite a few hellish days due to Sony. However, most of the reviews are back in the positives now, with a few negatives still skewing the ratings. despite that, many fans are grateful for the change and continue to helldive against the Terminids and Automatons.

Meanwhile, this scummy move soiled the game for some players, with some promising they won’t return to it anymore.
