Red Dead Redemption 1 is an instant classic for most gamers from the early 2010s era. However, Rockstar Games left the PC community out, only releasing it for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Now, PC gamers might be able to play the game without requiring an emulator. A leak from an X (formerly Twitter) user shows a possible new addition to the Rockstar store.

Is Red Dead Redemption 1 Coming To PC?

Rockstar isn’t well known for its ports and remakes. GTA 4’s PC port was laggy and buggy on launch, and it still plagues it a decade after its release. Red Dead Redemption 1’s port to the Switch also garnered negativity from the community.

However, Rockstar might finally be getting a win in the community’s eyes this time. The “epic Western adventure that defined a generation” might be entering the PC community. Fans are now speculating a possible release thanks to a leaker finding interesting code in Rockstar’s game platform.

The user, Tez2, highlights how Rockstar seems to be gearing up for a release by adding blurbs that you’d typically see browsing stores on game platforms. One blurb ends with “RDR 1 and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare, now playable on PC.”

It’s Not Confirmed, But It’s Concrete Evidence

Leaks have proven to be murky at times. However, the leaker claims it’s a marketing string resembling other Rockstar games.

Another user points out that this month could be the perfect time to release the game. After all, it will celebrate its 14th birthday in five days.

As such, this is big news to the gaming community. They’ve been asking for a port of the original RDR for years. Rockstar just might grant this wish now, and it’ll be a win-win. Gamers play RDR on PC; the gaming studio rakes in the dough.
