Per The Athletic, NBA veteran Michael Beasley has agreed to a deal with the Brooklyn Nets. The 6’9” small forward will join the Nets in Orlando for the NBA restart.

Brooklyn was in desperate need of players to fill out their roster. Taurean Prince, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Spencer Dinwiddie, Deandre Jordan, Wilson Chandler, and Nix Claxton are all sitting out the NBA’s return.

Brooklyn knows they have essentially zero chance to make a playoff run. They currently sit at the 7th spot atop the Eastern Conference. If they aren’t bounced out of the playoff picture by the time the regular season finishes up, they are set for a first round exit.

The Nets have lost essentially half their starting lineup and their best bench players too.

In the last week, Brooklyn has signed both Jamal Crawford and Michael Beasley. Both players are far removed from their prime, but given their increased roles on the Nets undermanned squad, it wouldn’t be out of the question to see a revival of their careers.

Michael Beasley has the best chance for this, as he is still only 31 years old. Crawford, who is 40, will probably retire after this season.
