After struggling the last few seasons, Drew Pomeranz has found success this season coming out of the San Diego Padres bullpen.

Pomeranz is a 1x All-Star but has begun to regress in the past couple of seasons. He was traded from San Diego to Boston in 2016. Pomeranz was expected to help the Red Sox make deep postseason runs.

With Boston winning the World Series in 2018, Pomeranz fulfilled his task and was in the team’s starting rotation.

However, after posting a 5.68 ERA last season with the San Francisco Giants, it was clear Pomeranz was beginning to decline.

The 31-year-old signed back with the Padres last offseason and has seemed to revitalize himself in San Diego. With 15 innings pitched this season out of the pen, the lefty has an ERA of 0.00.

Along with an ERA of 0, Pomeranz also has eight holds, a win, and a WHIP of 0.800. The lowest of his career thus far.

The veteran lefty has been one of, if not the best reliever for the Padres this season. The club is hoping he can keep up his good play into the playoffs.

The Padres are currently sitting in second place in their division and only 1.5 games behind the first-place Dodgers. San Diego is gearing up for a long postseason run.

The Padres will need Pomeranz to continue to flourish out of the bullpen in order to be serious contenders.
