Following New York’s 12-6 loss to the Blue Jays, Yankees pitchers complained about the lighting at Sahlen Field. The Pitchers said it was hard to see the catcher’s signs, according to Rob Longley.
The Yankees dropped three out of four games against Baltimore. Now, they’re losing their first of a three-game set against Toronto. The excuses are rolling in for the Yankees.
The pitchers for New York had to step off the mound multiple times throughout the game after they were unable to get in sync with their catcher.
It is worth noting that Sahlen Field is the Blue Jays AAA affiliate Buffalo Bisons field. The maintenance crews have been attempting to upgrade the lighting all season.
Although they are currently in a playoff spot, the Yankees are certainly in jeopardy of missing the postseason. If they do, it would be the first time since 2014.
Toronto and New York continue their three-game series tonight at 6:37 PM ET at Sahlen Field.
