Bradley Beal says he’s a ‘loyal guy’ and ‘wants’ to be in Washington

Mar 6, 2020; Washington, District of Columbia, USA; Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal (3) warms up before the game between the Washington Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks at Capital One Arena.

In a recent podcast interview, Wizards star guard Bradley Beal showed his loyalty to DC. Amidst speculation about his future after a disappointing season, Beal came out to say he wants to stay in Washington.

The On the Road with Buck and Phil podcast asked Beal about his career plans after this season, where he posted an impressive 30.5 points per game. Despite his performance this year, the Wizards finished 25-47 and weren’t even granted entrance into the COVID bubble.

Surprisingly, he stated his intent to remain in Washington, saying, “I’m a loyal guy. I want to be here. I’m here. I’ve signed my extension. And that will mean the world to me. ”

Speculation of a possible trade only increased after Beal was snubbed from All-NBA honors following his season. Contenders like the Lakers and the Warriors seemed viable options. Beal would be a great second or third scoring option for an already elite team.

However, it looks like Beal is staying put for at least next year. With John Wall returning from an Achilles injury that sidelined him this season, Washington may find themselves in the hunt next year. On a good day, Beal certainly can be a franchise player, and it depends on the Wizards to retain his talents.
