The young star, Jayson Tatum, led the comeback by putting the league on notice. He posted a career-high 60 points, 5 assists, and 8 rebounds. On the contrary, what was most impressive was that Tatum had no turnovers in his 45 minutes of play. Also, Tatum’s career-high 60 points tied the franchise record for most points in a single game. He tied Larry Bird’s record, who scored 60 points in 1985.
Jayson Tatum shot 20-37 from the field, along with 15-17 from the free-throw line and 5-7 from downtown. However, he was not alone in this historic win. His dynamic partner, Jaylen Brown, recorded 17 points, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds in 44 minutes. Also, Brown hit a clutch three to put the Celtics ahead in overtime with 16.7 seconds remaining.
Head Coach of the Celtics, Brad Stevens, was upset with his team after the first two quarters. However, he ended up leaving the game pleased with Jayson Tatum’s performance.
