It looks like Danilo Gallinari might be looking for a new home. On Tuesday morning, he tweeted, ‘Where to next?’ suggesting that he will be moving on from OKC.
The tweet shows Gallinari in his former teams’ jerseys and him in a blank No. 8 jersey, indicating that he has no idea where he will end up.
The Thunder will do their best to keep him. Last season, he played a major role in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s regular-season success in which he averaged 18.7 and 5.2 rebounds. He shot 41% from three and 89% from the line. Despite a good season with Oklahoma City, Gallinari stated that he wanted to compete for a championship, meaning that it will be difficult for the Thunder to convince Gallinari to stay. Even though the Thunder overachieved last season, they are still nowhere near contenders.
As an unrestricted free agent, Gallinari will most certainly receive offers from many teams whenever free agency starts. As a 32-year-old without an NBA championship, Gallinari will definitely evaluate his options very carefully this offseason.
