In an article posted by The Athletic, an anonymous NBA agent claims that DeMar DeRozan wants out of San Antonio. However, the 4-time All-Star appears to refute this rumor by posting a not-so-subtle Instagram post.
On Wednesday, DeRozan posted a clip from the movie Friday. The caption read, “Me trying to figure out when I said this sh*t,” capped off with a curious face emoji. He seems to want the NBA community to know that these reports are false.
The Athletic’s article consisted of 20 unnamed player agents delineating their opinions about NBA news — including free agency. It’s no secret that the two-time All-NBA guard is set to be one of the most sought-after free agents.
According to the anonymous agent, “DeMar doesn’t like San Antonio and doesn’t want to be there.” Moreover, he states that DeRozan’s relationship with former coach Dwane Casey is “strong.” The anonymous player representative believes this will be a driving force for DeRozan possibly landing in Detroit.
This season DeRozan averaged 22.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. He also shot 53% from the field — the highest for a guard while taking over 15 shots since Jordan.
