The recent release of ESPN’s MJ mini-series has sparked a new trend in sports culture. Tons of new hoops documentaries been in the works. The next documentary of this sort is going to be focused on the infamous 2006-07 ‘We Believe’ Golden State Warriors

“We’re in the midst of getting a ‘We Believe’ documentary together,” former Warriors forward Matt Barnes revealed on The Bill Simmons Podcast.

Barnes, who won a championship with the Warriors in 2017, was a key contributor to the ‘We Believe’ Warriors. The underdog team famously knocked out the first seed Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 playoffs. Barnes, Stephen Jackson, Monta Ellis, Baron Davis, and Al Harrington led the Warriors to an unimpressive 42-40 record that year. However, they marked their place in the history books with one of the greatest series upsets in NBA history over Dirk Nowitzki and the 67-15 Mavericks.

This documentary may not be as successful as ‘The Last Dance,’. Still, the dynamics of the players and their personalities will be fun to watch as they recall their memory of the 2007 playoffs.
