Draymond Green has been given a $50K tampering fine for his public comments regarding Suns All-Star Devin Booker, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes. He suggested that Booker needs to leave Phoenix, potentially implying Green wants to team up with him in Oakland.

During Friday’s broadcast of “Inside the NBA” on TNT, the former Defensive Player of the Year lauded Booker’s play during Phoenix’s undefeated start in the bubble. However, Green went on to lament that the Suns’ guard is wasting his time in Phoenix, and that “it’s not good for his career” there.

“It’s great to see Book playing well and Phoenix playing well but get my man out of Phoenix,” Draymond Green said in a guest analyst on TNT. “It’s not good for him, it’s not good for his career. Sorry Chuck, but they gotta get Book out of Phoenix. I need my man to go somewhere where he can play great basketball all the time and win because he’s that type of player.”

Following Green’s remarks, “Inside the NBA” host Ernie Johnson asked whether he thought he was tampering or not – the three-time champion said, “maybe.”

Phoenix is now 5-0 in the NBA bubble, after defeating Miami on Saturday night. Booker poured in a game-high 35 points to help maintain the Suns as the only undefeated team in the restart. They are now only two games back from the eighth seed in the West.

Green’s $50K tampering fine is the most notable since Magic Johnson in 2018. The NBA fined the Hall of Fame point guard for comments he made about Giannis Antetokounmpo while in an ESPN interview.
