Harry Kane in the NFL? It seems an outlandish idea, but the Tottenham striker said it himself that he could explore a career in the sport. England’s current captain recently sat down with Texans defensive end JJ Watt to discuss the upcoming Super Bowl and Kane’s fandom for American football.
When asked about a potential kicking career in the NFL, Kane expressed a fair bit of interest.
“I love the [American football] so much and I mentioned it would be great to explore that opportunity one day.”
He went on to credit his current professional career in soccer as a leg up on kickers who lack the professional background that he has.
“I’d like to think my experience of dealing with that in soccer would put me maybe at an advantage compared to some of the other guys who maybe haven’t had that experience coming out of college.”
Seeing Kane kicking field goals may just be a vision of the future, but currently Kane is tearing the Premier League apart.
Along with teammate Heung-Min Son, Kane already has 12 goals and sits second in the Premier League top scorers charts.
While a minor ankle injury currently sidelines him, he is projected to make his return as soon as next week.
