Bronny James reportedly suffered a torn meniscus. The Sierra Canyon star reportedly suffered the injury around three weeks ago.
James mentioned the injury on one of his many Twitch streams at the start of February. However, no outlets ever reported the injury other than Bronny himself.
LA Daily News’ Tarek Fattal confirmed the injury on Thursday. The injury may be season-ending, but that depends on how California high school sports play out.
As of February 25th, indoor sports in California still have no season plans due to the pandemic. This has the potential to change as outdoor sports recently received clearance from the state.
Despite strict state regulations, Sierra Canyon continued competing as a club team. The California Basketball Club even had a scheduled tournament in Utah next month.
Bronny is 25th in ESPN’s rankings for the class of 2023. Just last year, he led Sierra Canyon to a league title and a 30-4 record. Along the way, he managed to beat his dad LeBron’s alma mater St. Vincent-St. Mary in a nationally televised game.
Last year proved impressive as James played a vital part on the team as a true freshman. Despite his young age, James is being projected to join his dad in the NBA in the coming years.
