The New York Knicks won a close game at Madison Square Garden to tie the series with the Atlanta Hawks. According to recent reports, Immanuel Quickley had a beer thrown at him by a fan during the event.

It seems that Quickley doesn’t know who threw the beer or why. It was a knicks home game at which the incident occurred, which is interesting. There’s been no confirmation whether the fan in question was cheering for Atlanta or New York. It comes at a time in which the NBA is struggling with fan behavior.

With fans back in arenas, the NBA has seen some less than desirable situations occur. Most recently, Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets had a water bottle thrown at him as he exited TD Garden. This occurred after the Nets blowout win over the Celtics in game 4 of the series.

The fan who threw the water bottle at Kyrie has been banned from TD Garden indefinitely and is facing charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. That incident sparked further controversy when Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis, and KD got into it on Instagram surrounding Irving stomping on the Celtics logo.

Over the past few days, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, and Ja Morant’s family have also been the subjects of inappropriate fan behavior. Organizations have responded to these situations by banning fans from the arena indefinitely. Because the fan’s identity who threw a beer at Immanuel Quickley is unknown, no action can be taken. More than likely, if the fan is found, similar actions will be taken.

Quickley has been important for the Knicks so far in this series. With Rose moving to the starting lineup in game 3, Quickley’s importance of the bench only increased. He’s only getting 10-15 minutes a game but gives the team an important scoring and playmaking punch off the bench.
