Jamal Crawford to Sign With Brooklyn Nets

Apr 5, 2019; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Phoenix Suns guard Jamal Crawford (11) dribbles against the New Orleans Pelicans during the first half at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Jamal Crawford has not played in an NBA game for over a year. Yet the former 6th man has just agreed to a deal with the Brooklyn Nets, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

The 40-year-old could see ample playing time. The Nets are without four of their rotational players – DeAndre Jordan, Spencer Dinwiddie, Wilson Chandler, and Taurean Prince. Brooklyn still has two roster spots available,

Depending on whether or not Crawford has been tested regularly since June 23rd, he will have to be quarantined and tested daily for a week in Orlando before permitted to join his team.

When last we saw Jamal Crawford he was averaging 7.9 points and 3.6 assists in 64 games with the Phoenix Suns. Most notably, he scored 51 points off the bench in the season finale against the Dallas Mavericks. The three-time Sixth Man of the Year recipient has averaged 14.6 points and 2.2 rebounds over the course of his career.

The seventh-seeded Nets will kick off their NBA restart against the Orlando Magic on July 31st.
