According to the Five on the Floor Podcast, Jimmy Butler has lost 12 pounds while battling COVID-19. He has been inactive for ten games due to the NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols. Generally, younger and more fit people have experienced less severe symptoms, but there are always exceptions to this trend.

It’s a scary sight that a player who’s dedicated a lot of time in the weight room has a lot a significant amount of muscle. Offensively, Butler is a bully-ball player. He uses his strong frame to bully players in the post and drive to the basket. Last year, he proved he was one of the best foul-baiters in the league, especially on his hard-headed drives.

On defense, Butler can handle larger players and match their physicality. Butler also has excellent hands and anticipation, which compliments his strength. He also possesses the speed to contain smaller guards.

The Miami Heat injury report says he can return to the floor on Saturday, January 30th, against the Sacramento Kings. The Heat have gotten off to a slow start to the season without Butler. They are currently 13th in the Eastern Conference at 6-12 before the Kings game. Hopefully, he can bring his leadership as the heart and soul of the Heat to put them back in the playoff mix.

Jimmy Butler had an outstanding all-around game. He finished with 30 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists. He also went 14/16 from the free-throw line. Butler gave the Heat another ball-handler and scorer that they desperately needed.
