Karl-Anthony Towns recently voiced his frustrations with those who refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Having lost a great deal due to the virus, Towns has strongly advocated taking the shot. However, not everyone has viewed the situation at hand in the same way. The Timberwolves big-man aired his grievances on Twitter on Tuesday evening.

“Every day, I see a new excuse why people ain’t getting the vaccine. Ya starting to get creative with these “reasons” though, and it’s actually really funny.”

The response to this message involves a mass of differing views. Such has been the case with practically everything regarding the current pandemic. However, Karl-Anthony Towns remains unmoved by opposing opinions. He elaborated further in response to another post.

“It never matters to people until it happens to them. I hope no one has to deal with what I’ve had to and still continue to deal with.”

From where he stands, those who see it differently merely lack experience with the issue. His advocacy for the vaccine comes in hopes that others won’t suffer as he has. Towns, 25, contracted the virus earlier this year. Though he recovered, multiple members of his family did not, including his late mother, Jaqueline Cruz. By last December, Towns had lost seven relatives to the coronavirus.

Reception to the COVID-19 Vaccine

A significant number of people have opted against taking any dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine. Reasons for that mostly range between personal reservations, medical complications, or religious beliefs. Others, like Karl-Anthony Towns, have willingly taken their shots and urged everyone else to do the same.

With this public stalemate treading on, the pandemic continues. Government officials and large organizations like the NBA have placed their incentives to bring about a faster solution. Although, the league has hit some bumps on that front. Ultimately, how this pandemic dissolves will depend on the people; however, that may come.
