The 23-year old from the Boston Celtics debuted in the Olympic Games this year. With many people looking at Tatum to be a superstar in the making, it seems Kevin Durant is another fan. Since both played earlier this year in the Playoffs, where Tatum dropped 50 points against him, the pair continually shows respect to each other.
Greg Popovich on Jayson Tatum
The USA team's Head Coach, Greg Popovich, certainly agrees with Kevin since he had something to say in his favor. Claiming he told Jayson to play tonight as he plays against his Spurs, which led to this performance.
“Every time we play him he scores like 90"Greg Popovich on Tatum playing against the Spurs
Both Popovich and the team have been constantly criticized for their bad performance lately. Having lost the FIBA World Cup 2020 and then two friendly games in 2021.
However, after losing the opening game against France, the team bounced back, winning against Iran and the Czech Republic.
