Warriors guard Klay Thompson involved himself in the NBA’s latest ‘beef’ this past Sunday. While a part of the commentary team for the Warriors Vs. Pistons matchup this past Sunday, Thompson insulted Pistons guard Rodney McGruder after an on-court feud.
Thompson had the following to say regarding McGruder:
“I don’t know. This dude might be out the league soon. He’s probably mad about that, who knows? [He’s] Over here trying to start something like he’s a good player or something.”
Postgame, teammate Draymond Green added more fuel to the fire when asked about the feud.
The conflict seemed set in stone, with both sides settling with little incident other than Green and Thompson’s remarks. However, Glen “Big Baby” Davis added his take, responding to a Sideline Sources Instagram post regarding the beef.
Thompson went on to respond via an Instagram story posted not long after Davis’ comment.
Whether it be for better or worse, the feud may not fully play out as Davis hasn’t played in the league since 2015, last playing in Canada during the 2018-2019 season.
McGruder himself remained largely silent on the issue, even after Davis appeared to take his side.
