NBA Will Give Out Bubble Awards

Aug 4, 2020; Lake Buena Vista, USA; Indiana Pacers forward T.J. Warren (1) plays against the Orlando Magic during the second half of an NBA basketball game Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The NBA will reward the top performers from the eight seeding games by naming a bubble MVP, as well as selecting an all-bubble first and second team, per Shams Charania.

Eligible voters will be media members currently living in the bubble at Disney World. They will be allowed to select players regardless of position and conference. The NBA will announce the award winners on August 15th.

The league announced the finalists for the regular season awards last week. These honors are based on all games played before March 11th and will be revealed later in the restart.

Some players likely to be named to the all-bubble teams include Luka Doncic and James Harden. They’re the leading scorers in the restart, and Doncic is leading the bubble in assists with 11.6 per game. T.J. Warren is one of the surprises of the bubble and will be in contention for one of those coveted spots as well. He scored 53 points in the Pacers’ opener and has since averaged 31 points per game.

Devin Booker will be vying for the bubble MVP award, as his Suns are currently the only undefeated team. He’s also averaging 30.3 points, on 50.4% shooting.
