After five-and-a-half seasons playing for the Toronto Raptors, Norman Powell played against his old club in only his second game for his new club, the Portland Trailblazers. With emotions running high, old habits kicked in for Powell before the game as he lined up on the wrong side of the opening tip-off. Despite the mistake before tip-off, the reunion was a happy occasion for Norman Powell, with the Blazers defeating the Raptors 122-117. Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 22 points and 11 assists, while Powell scored 13 points against his old club.
Powell was one of the noteworthy players moved ahead of this season’s NBA trade deadline. The Toronto Raptors traded Powell to the Portland Trailblazers for Gary Trent Jr and Rodney Hood.
