Paul George has scored 20 plus points in 18 consecutive games this postseason and cementing his performance in NBA playoff history. Only three other players have accomplished the same feat: Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant. Also, Jordan, Bryant, and Durant all reached the NBA finals the same year on their run.

George joined the legendary company after game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against the Phoenix Suns. The Los Angeles Clippers avoided elimination beating the Suns 116-102 in Phoenix. George led his team with 41 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Furthermore, he scored 20 points in the third quarter, shooting 75% from the field.

After the game, George shared his mentality going into game 5 and the following games in the series.

“If they were going to finish this series, they were going to have to work for it. That's just the mentality we had. We weren't going to back down. We weren't going to throw in the towel. The fact of the matter is they've got to beat us.”-Paul George

The Clippers have had a phenomenal postseason making it into the Western Conference Finals. Also, the team has been down 0-2 three times in these playoffs in all three matchups they have had. The first two were up against the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz. However, the Clippers managed to crawl their way out of both series to make playoff history.

Furthermore, the team has played without one of their star players, Kawhi Leonard, for the last seven games in the playoffs. Leonard suffered a knee injury in game 4 against the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference Semifinals. Therefore, Paul George had a significant role to step in losing his star duo. However, his games 5 and 6 against the Utah Jazz were stellar in carrying his team to their first-ever Western Conference Finals.

Now, George looks to continue his impressive run to take the Los Angeles Clippers to their first NBA finals.
