The rookie from Wisconsin officially signed his first shoe deal with Nike on April 26th. Tyrese received notice from the company after his consistent shoe style. Tyrese has shown off his style in his previous games, wearing colorful, vibrant shoes. He joins many NBA players who have signed with Nike, such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and his teammate De’Arron Fox.

But Tyrese’s shoe game is not the only thing that caught the attention of Nike. Tyrese’s play has been gaining more and more notice ever since his minutes have gone up. Throughout the season, he has been overshadowed by Lamelo Ball and Anthony Edwards. However, he is slowly gaining more popularity as a rookie.

Furthermore, many regard Tyrese to be the steal of the 2020 NBA Draft. The Kings drafted him 12th overall, and he shows promise as a future star for the team.

Also, the Kings team loves to play with the rookie out of Iowa State. Luke Walton believes that Tyrese Haliburton possesses the “clutch gene” and trusts his rookie, especially in crunch time.

The most recent Rookie of the Year Ladder places Tyrese at 4th among all rookies. However, he has won Western Conference Rookie of the Month twice this season, in January and February.

Also, the 21-year-old is averaging 12.8 points, 5.2 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game. Tyrese’s first game after the shoe deal was yesterday against the Dallas Mavericks. The Kings won 113-106 in a close game. Tyrese had a double-double with 14 points, 5 boards, 10 assists, and 3 steals.

The Sacramento Kings hold the 12th seed in the Western Conference, and with Fox out, Tyrese has become a starter. It will be interesting to see what he can do with increased minutes and usage as the Kings play the Utah Jazz next.
