Zaire Wade, son of former Miami Heat star Dwayne, is signing a contract with Utah Jazz’s G-League affiliate. Dwayne Wade became a part-owner of the Utah Jazz back in April, and he undoubtedly played a big part in orchestrating this deal.

Zaire is 19 years old and listed at 6’3 & 170 pounds. Wade played at Sierra Canyon High School in California, where he graduated in 2020. He was rated as a three-star prospect by multiple recruiters. At the same time, he is undoubtedly reaping the benefits of having an NBA legend like his father working for him. Zaire is a top 300 high school recruit. The kid can play, and he is hoping to show that in the G-League.

During his final year at Sierra Canyon, Wade’s teammates included Bronny James, son of NBA star LeBron James and two 2021 draft picks. Brandon Boston was the no.51 overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers. And Zaire Williams, the no.10 overall pick by New Orleans Pelicans before a trade to the Memphis Grizzlies.

It is proving increasingly difficult to avoid the word nepotism here. And while Zaire Wade has some significant upside. In terms of age, athleticism, and genes, he will have to show some severe levels of growth. Zaire Wade would often struggle for floor time among the star-studded line up at Sierra Canyon High School last year, and meant that his best college offers came from the likes of DePaul and South Carolina.

Dwayne Wade was a 13 time all-star during his NBA career. And Wade was also part of three championship-winning teams while playing for the Miami Heat. His son Zaire begins his career with the Salt Lake City Stars on November 5th. If he gets anywhere close to matching his father’s career, he can count himself very, very lucky.
