Andre Drummond claims he’s the best rebounder in NBA history. He further states that he’s got a great chance to be in the Hall of Fame. Fans are furious that he disrespected other rebounders, especially considering he’s only 43rd on the list for all-time total rebounds.

Andre Drummond’s claims

While fans disagree, Drummond has put up serious work in the past. The Chicago Bulls center had been the rebound leader during the 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons. Furthermore, he made two All-Star appearances in 2016 and 2018.

However, his career average for total rebounds per game is only 12.7, which is only 13th place compared to Wilt Chamberlain’s 22.9 in first place. Furthermore, Drummond’s total rebounds amount to only 9,963, placing him 43rd on the leaderboard to Chamberlain’s 23,924 at first.

“I’m not gonna lie, I think there was some great-ass bigs in the time. I think I’ve done great in my career, I think I have a chance to be a Hall of Fame player. I’m pretty sure I’m in the top 20 for being in the Hall of Fame.”

Drummond strays away from comparing himself to one of the best bigs. However, he’s confident he’ll get into the Hall of Fame.

On the other hand, Drummond’s stats have been deteriorating compared to his prime days with the Pistons. This past season he averaged 6.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. These numbers pale in comparison to his 2017-2018 run, where he put up 15 points, 16 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per contest.

Fans are not happy with Andre Drummond

More than a few fans comment that he’s not the best rebounder. The likes of Chamberlain, Dennis Rodman, and Hakeem Olajuwon are brought up. All of them are higher in the leaderboards for total rebounds than Drummond.

“Wilt looking down from heaven reading this tweet.”
