Meanwhile, the Pacers are on their way to battle the Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA Cup and $500K per player reward.

Bobby Portis Puts forth Ideas For Adrian Griffin

Sources tell Bleacher Report that the Bucks players weren’t happy with what happened on the court during the In-Season Tournament semifinals.

The Pacers beat the Bucks 128-119. After the loss, the latter returned to the locker room and exchanged a few ideas about why the game went sour.

Initially, Griffin talked about what went wrong in the game. He claims that the team needs to win the rebounding battle. For context, the Pacers rebounded the ball 51 times. Meanwhile, the Bucks only rebounded the ball 46 times.

However, Portis passionately challenged Griffin’s points. Instead of focusing on rebounds, the head coach should also focus on structuring the offense better down the stretch of games.

Griffin was more than open to the criticism, accepting that he needs to be more aggressive with his play-calling.

Lastly, the former NBA champion argues that it’s a two-way street. Direction is needed from the coach, but the players should be ready and able to execute it.

The game in the third quarter seemed to be neck and neck, with both teams exchanging point for point. However, the Pacers eventually broke off the stalemate late in the fourth quarter.

The Bucks couldn’t close out the game despite Damian Lillard’s 24 points and Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s 37.

Meanwhile, Tyrese Haliburton put on a show with 27 points, 15 assists, and zero turnovers. Myles Turner also chipped in with 26 points.

Haliburton even mocked Lillard by doing his “Dame Time” signature move.
