Portland Trail Blazers Carmelo Anthony made history last night, joining the top 10 all-time list in NBA scoring. Anthony scored 14 points off the bench against the Atlanta Hawks, passing Elvin Hayes to the top ten list. Carmelo Anthony gave a speech to his team after achieving this milestone.

Anthony currently has 27,318 points scored in the NBA, giving him the tenth spot on the list. Players above him include Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, LeBron James, and more. The next player Anthony has a chance at passing up is Moses Malone. Malone scored 27,409 points in his career, and Anthony is not too far behind.

The Denver Nuggets drafted Carmelo Anthony in the 2003 NBA draft. He became a great player for the Nuggets, averaging 24.8 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game in eight seasons. Anthony got traded to the New York Knicks midway through the 2010-2011 NBA season.

Anthony played seven seasons with the Knicks, averaging 24.7 points per game and seven rebounds per game. He was the NBA scoring leader in 2013 and was a ten-time all-star during his time in Denver and New York.

Anthony then would join the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017, where he would have one of his worst seasons. He averaged 16.2 points and 5.8 rebounds. He joined the Houston Rockets in 2018. However, he would only play ten games that whole season. Because of his absence, Anthony didn’t play another game until the 2019-2020 season. He joined the Portland Trail Blazers that season and is still playing there today.

Carmelo Anthony is 36 years old and can still get higher on the all-time scoring list. Anthony has passed up players like Tim Duncan and Dominique Wilkins in terms of all-time scoring this season and is still going. Even though Anthony is not putting up as many points as he did in his earlier seasons in the NBA, he still gets points for the Trail Blazers and continues to move up the list.
