Josh Hart played 10 straight quarters without rest, but he admits he did not always have that type of endurance. Apparently, Hart listened to a piece of weird advice from Chad Ochocinco on how he could perform at the highest level without getting tired.

The New York Knicks forward spilled the beans on The Roommates Show with Jalen Brunson.

After the game, I was just tired. He was just, ‘What did you eat today?’ I’m like, ‘You know, I had grilled chicken and rice, you know, some healthy stuff.’ He’s like, ‘That’s your problem. Go to McDonald’s, get you some McDonald’s, take you half a viagra before the game, and you’re good.

You just want me to run around and try to guard these dudes with half a woody?

Before you all collectively yell, “What?,” there’s a method to this madness, at least according to the former NFL star. Ochocinco cleared the air and explained the science behind that bizarre advice.

Nah, see, you don’t understand. That’s why you taking half. You got to understand Viagra increases the blood flow. If you increase the blood flow, VO2 max, cardiovascular… The increase in blood flow throughout the body enhances your performance and people don’t even understand that. They just think sex when they think viagra. Just half a pill. I did it before every game.

It’s an interesting alchemy lesson from the former NFL wide receiver, but no one should take his word for it. After all, no one even knows if it’s safe in the long term and if there are any side effects.

That said, Hart did not say he took Ochocinco’s advice. He averaged 46.6 minutes per game in the playoffs and played two full consecutive games. Needless to say, Tom Thibodeau loves the guy.

Another test of endurance will come the 29-year-old’s way. Game 3 against the Indiana Pacers is at 7:00 PM EST at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
