The Dallas Mavericks are just one of many investments that billionaire Mark Cuban keeps in his portfolio. Cuban has invested a good portion of his money in the technology and entertainment industries throughout his career. Meanwhile, the Shark Tank mogul has recently added an entire town to his ever-growing asset list.

The Navarro County town of Mustang is located on Interstate 45 and has a population of only 23 people. The hamlet is roughly 55 miles south of Dallas and only 77 acres in total. Mustang’s main attractions include a strip club and trailer park. Additionally, there is a volunteer fire department in the area.

Although Cuban purchased the town, it’s unlikely he views it as a lucrative investment, stating that he bought the town because a friend needed to sell. It’s unclear what changes if any, the city will go through as a result of the purchase. That said, don’t expect the Mavericks to hold any preseason games there anytime soon.

“I don’t know what, if anything, I will do with it.”

The town was up for sale for $4 million back in 2017, but the price was considered too high for most buyers.

In the end, the investment is just a drop in the bucket for the billionaire. With an estimated net worth of $4.5 billion, the cost of Mustang is pocket change, relatively speaking. The Dallas Mavericks franchise alone is worth $2.7 billion. Cuban’s role on the famous Shark Tank involves a slew of small to medium-sized start-up investments. He has agreed to 85 deals across 111 episodes, with his largest deal being a $2 million investment in Ten Thirty-One Productions. More recently, Cuban has shown some excitement over the NFT collectible market.

Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks have owned real estate in the playoffs for two consecutive seasons and currently sit 4th in the Western Conference.
