James Harden’s trade request has been stirring up the basketball community in the last month. The Philadelphia 76ers point guard has been calling out Morey for lying. Damian Lillard wants to clarify that he doesn’t think like that.
Harden’s problem Wouldn’t Be An Issue for Lillard
The Portland Trail Blazers point guard gives a grounded take despite all the drama around Harden. It’s no secret that the seven-time All-Star wants to get out of his team of 11 years.
This situation resembles Harden’s since the latter wanted to be traded to the LA Clippers. However, both superstars handle their cases differently.
While the 34-year-old has taken to social media to complain and publicize the debacle, Lillard thinks differently.

When asked about his feelings about seeing other players get what they want when they’re in the same situation, he gives a humble take.
Apparently, the Trail Blazers superstar doesn’t expect everything to go his way. Whether it does or it doesn’t, he just accepts it.
“I don’t go into no situation just expecting to just to always have my way.”

However, this does not mean he doesn’t have his wants and desires. He just doesn’t let the issues cloud his judgment.
The 33-year-old has principles he wants to live by, and getting carried away by what he wants is not one of them. He isn’t shaming Harden for how he’s approaching it; Lillard just knows that isn’t how he would handle it.
“Just ’cause somebody else is willing to go whatever route they go, there are certain things that I’m just not going to do. ‘Cause it ain’t a part of who I am, so I’m not gonna get beside myself.”

It Is What It Is
Appropriately, he claims that whatever happens is just, “That’s what it is.”
The NBA superstar emphasizes the principles he holds close and how he’ll stick to them despite the situation. He finishes his take by claiming that he will stay true to himself if things don’t go his way.
Do you think Lillard should fight harder for his trade like Harden, or is he handling his situation well?
