Daryl Morey‘s alleged pile of lies grew in size again, but this time, it’s regarding Chris Paul‘s trade. It turns out that the point guard’s time with the Oklahoma City Thunder was thanks to Morey—something Paul explicitly said he didn’t want.

Chris Paul Corroborates Daryl Morey Is A Liar

This isn’t the first time the Philadelphia 76ers’ president of basketball operations has been called a liar. The accusations started with James Harden calling him a liar for not offering him a max contract. Then, in early February of this year, Patrick Beverley says Morey lied by trading him away.

Now, Paul outs him for trading him to a team he didn’t want to go to.

On Dwyane Wade’s podcast, The Why with Dwyane Wade, the 38-year-old talked about how it all went down. It resembles Morey’s speech about not trading Beverley to the Milwaukee Bucks.

“I go to the gym to work out and Daryl called me. ‘I was just calling just to make sure you don’t wanna go to OKC.’

I was like, ‘No, why? I don’ moved 15 people to Houston.”

And he was like, ‘Okay, I was just making sure. I would never trade you to somewhere you ain’t wanna go because you chose to come to us from the Clippers.'”

Paul found out about his trade to Oklahoma City through a social media alert.

“I chose to go to Houston from LA. That’s what he said to me. I was on the phone with Jada [his wife] and next thing you know [alert sound] and said that I was getting traded to [OKC].”

Morey Tries To Clear It Up

Immediately after the trade, Morey called Paul to try to clear up the fact that he went against the latter’s wishes. However, the guard didn’t need to hear any excuses. Instead, he asks him to confirm that he said he wouldn’t trade him.

“Then my phone started ringing and it was Daryl calling. Daryl was like, ‘Hey, man. It just moves so fast.’

I say, ‘It’s all good. I just want you to tell me one thing. You said you wouldn’t gonna trade me, right? To OKC?’

He say, ‘Yeah, I said that but.’

I say, ‘That’s all I needed to know.'”

Once again, another case points to Morey’s lack of honesty and transparency with his players. Last year, many called Harden out for being unprofessional with him. However, months later, many rally against the 51-year-old for his lies. Paul’s story is just adding more gasoline to the fire.

Morey hasn’t responded to any of these accusations as of writing.
