Drake released another studio album today with his highly anticipated record ‘For All The Dogs’. The Toronto, Canada native always finds ways to mix throw jabs in his record. This time, NBA player and fellow Canadian Dillion Brooks caught a shot.

The diss came on a song titled ‘Another Late Night’ with fellow rapper Lil Yachty on the track.

Shawty ran some Dillion Brooks, can’t believe this n—- talkin’ damn.

Fans are speculating what moment in particular Drake is referencing on the track. However, there is one specific moment that came to mind. While interviewing Team Canada this year for the FIBA World Cup, the team was asked which Canadian they liked more. The team had to choose between actor Ryan Reynolds or Drake.

Brooks was the only player on the entire team to choose Reynolds.

Brooks is known at this point for his villain persona in the league. This offseason, he made the move in free agency to leave the Memphis Grizzlies in order to play with the Houston Rockets. The diss from Drake could also be a reference to Brooks famously antagonizing LeBron James in their playoff series last year. LeBron ended up with the upper hand eliminating Brooks and the Grizzlies.

While the intent of the line at this moment is not certain, it seems pretty safe to assume that this was a jab at Brooks. Given the history of Brooks as a competitor, it seems safe to assume that he will likely respond in some way.

Drake’s fandom with the Toronto Raptors is something that he has made clear in his time. While Brooks had received his fair share of hate in recent months, this diss was something that Drake had clearly been waiting to unload.
