Giannis Antetokounmpo showed love to one of the greatest NBA big men of all time. After finishing his training with the NBA legend ahead of the 2023–24 season, the Milwaukee Bucks player praised Hakeem Olajuwon on X/Twitter.

Olajuwon and Antetokounmpo were spotted working out together in Houston, and Antetokounmpo has previously voiced his admiration for Olajuwon’s talent. The post appears to suggest that, to put it mildly, the training session went well.

“I enjoy being a student of the game. Learn, respect and appreciate greatness. Thank you Hakeem 34”

The remark also follows Gilbert Arenas’ criticism of Olajuwon for the amount he charges for workouts. Arenas accused Olajuwon of being outdated and exploiting young players. However, as an all-time great, there is plenty of basketball to learn from the legend.

Olajuwon’s impressive résumé supports Antetokounmpo’s comments. The 12-time All-Star is a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, has received an MVP award, and has won two NBA championships. Similar steps have been taken by Antetokounmpo to grow into a basketball legend.

He won an NBA Championship in 2021, is a two-time MVP, and a seven-time All-Star. He is one of the most exciting players in the NBA, and the fact that he is learning from Olajuwon demonstrates how much he wants to get better. At 28 years old, Antetokounmpo is in the thick of his prime.

This offseason, Antetokounmpo garnered attention for his unclear future in Milwaukee and his cited desire to capture another title as the primary factor in his choice. The Bucks are a team that will be in contention to win a title this season.
