Luka Doncic has solidified himself as one of the best players in the NBA today. At just 24 years of age, Doncic has been able to evolve his game with every single year of his career. Very few players can even contend with his level today.

Jason Kidd, the current coach of the Dallas Mavericks and Hall-of-Famer, went as far as to say that he is better than Dirk Nowitzki. Not only that but he is in the same atmosphere as Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

“He’s better than Dirk, he’s in the atmosphere of MJ, the best to ever do it. LeBron [James], Kobe, and so just to appreciate what this young man is doing at the age of 24 is something that Dallas has never seen.”

Jason Kidd said on 97.1 The Freak’s “The Downbeat”

This is high praise coming from Kidd. Back in 2011, Nowitzki and Kidd shocked the world by defeating the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. If anyone knows the greatness of Nowitzki firsthand, it would be Kidd.

While a championship has eluded Doncic so far in his career, there is no denying that he will have many years in this league being able to contend. Doncic is currently averaging 34.7 points, 8.6 assists, and 9.6 assists per game this season.

“I’ve said this internally, he is better than Dirk. He does things that Dirk could never do. And now is the opportunity of getting the right people around him to ultimately win a championship.”

While putting Doncic in the same breath as some of the greats feels unrealistic, there is no denying the talent that he has on the court. At such a young age, there truly is no limit to what Doncic can accomplish in his career.
