Jeff Teague reminisces about playing with the Atlanta Hawks and getting physical with LeBron James. The NBA isn’t unfamiliar with physical play on their courts, and Teague is a prime example.

This isn’t the first time another player opens up about the arguable GOAT constantly defeating them. It’s also not the only time a dangerous push happened during a game.

However, the retired point guard regrets pushing the 19-time All-Star. The reason for the physical altercation? He was mad at James for being too good.

Specifically, the 35-year-old didn’t like losing consistently when James was on the court.

However, he’s big enough to admit that it was his fault for letting his emotions get to him, he said on the Club 520 Podcast.

“My fault, GOAT James. We was losing, s–t, I’m a sore loser. I ain’t win a playoff game against that n—a ever.”

Even worse, his home fans were cheering for the opposing player instead of him.

“Fans in Atlanta cheerin’ for him. ‘You know what b—h? I got somethin’ for you.'”

This altercation caused Teague to receive hate mail. Some even sent him death threats.

“I got so much hate mail. ‘If he would have been hurt, I would’ve killed you b—h.’ That was my first time deleting Instagram. I was like ‘Yeah, I gotta get off this s–t.'”

Take A Trip Down Memory Lane

There are still videos of the shove on the internet. You can even see a few commenters confused about why the one-time All-Star did that.

At least now, fans can know why it happened with actual confirmation.

Additionally, the push didn’t even phase James. Fans even applaud him for handling it well.

In the end, there was little drama other than people becoming confused at the random aggression.

Despite the frustrations with his playoff runs throughout his career, Teague eventually won the 2020-2021 championship with the Milwaukee Bucks, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo.

It was perfectly timed, too, as the NBA champ chose to retire after that year.
