Jimmy Butler has never been the traditional star during his time in the NBA. While he goes on autopilot through most of the regular season, he fully locks in when the playoffs roll around. He goes from an All-Star caliber player to a solidified top-10 player in the league.

Ahead of their matchup, New York Knicks player Josh Hart discussed Butler’s unconventional style.

“Jimmy kind of does side quests during the year until about April. Then he starts locking in.”

Josh Hart told reporters

The Miami Heat currently hold the seventh-best record in the Eastern Conference with a 41-33 record. If the team is going to go on another run, they will undeniably need the help of Butler in order to do so.

If there is one thing you can count on the Heat to do, it is surpass the expectations placed on them. The 34-year-old wing is currently averaging 21.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game this season.

“I’m sure people are going to see that maniac competitive side now that he’s done with the side quests and he’s on to the main quest.”

While Butler has had tremendous postseason success, he still has yet to win a championship. The Eastern Conference has gotten even better this season with the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks. However, the Heat have continued to be a kryptonite to both of those franchises over the years.

The Heat would love to move up at least one spot before the playoffs to avoid the Play-In tournament. If they are incapable of hopping the Indiana Pacers in the standings, they will still remain very dangerous in this year’s playoffs.
