Kevin Durant and many other athletes couldn’t care less for sports bettors. After all, they’re all in it to win the game for themselves and their team rather than the money for bets. However, the constant complaints get grating after a while, as seen in Durant’s tweet on X (formerly Twitter).

Kevin Durant Calls Out Salty Sports Bettors

The four-time scoring champ semi-seriously calls out people who complain about his performance.

Durant highlights how fans don’t flood his messages with praise when he helps them hit their parlay. However, when he has an off night and costs them some money, he’s berated. There’s a set double standard for the player. When they perform well, they rarely get appreciated.

Durant is the latest of many athletes calling out sports bettors for only showing up on negative days. He even jokingly asks for a cut to his CashApp anytime bettors win from his performance.

Naturally, some fans play off the joke with their playful banter.

The Phoenix Suns superstar shouldn’t even care about fans making money off of him, especially with his multi-million salary.

The 35-year-old took this in stride and joked around in response.

Sports Betting And The Future

The advent of legal sports betting opened up new possibilities for the fans and the NBA itself. This provides more sponsorships for the league while also increasing interactivity from viewers.

However, there are still pitfalls, like anything else in life.

While many athletes might not care about betting and the insults they receive from it, they still deserve proper treatment.

Many agree that their performance and its effects on one’s bets shouldn’t be a reason to attack a player.

Do you think Durant has a point?
