Luka Doncic Says His Bartending Experience Factored Into The Ridiculous Underhanded Shot He Made Versus Rockets

Anthony Davis said Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic “are comedy” back in the All-Star break, and this is probably what he was talking about.

Explaining his ridiculous underhanded shot as the shot clock expired against the Houston Rockets, the Slovenian attributed it to his early bartending experience.

Luka Doncic: I wasn’t surprised. You know when I was young I was bartending, so it’s…

Reporter: What occurred to you just to try that shot?

Luka Doncic: I don’t know the answer to that question. I had a feeling it was going in, but I don’t know. I think there was one second in the clock.

The five-time All-Star needed to elaborate on that since he turned pro at 16. That said, that particular shot was so unbelievable the reporter felt it needed an explanation.

What’s more ridiculous is that he hit a crazier trick shot before the game. Doncic bounced the ball into the Jumbotron, ricocheted down the backboard, and into the basket.

It was apparently just another day in the office for the 25-year-old. He recorded 47 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists for the Dallas Mavericks, winners of seven straight and nine of the last 10. The victory halted Houston’s 11-game winning streak.

Dallas’ performance put a temporary setback on the Rockets’ Play-In hopes. Houston had a chance to inch closer to the Golden State Warriors for the 10th seed but is now two games behind after the loss.

In addition, Jalen Green’s string of at least 26 points also ended. The six-foot-four guard finished with only 12 points, along with six rebounds and five assists. He failed to hit a three in five attempts.

Nevertheless, the game was all about Doncic and his performance. If he keeps this up, he won’t be the second-best Maverick for long.
