Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley held nothing back talking about the Washington Wizards as a team. The Wizards are currently 2-10 after blowing up their roster this offseason. However, the way they have lost has been the biggest concern.

Beverley made note of just how bad the Wizards have been to start the season on the latest episode of his podcast, the ‘Pat Bev Pod.’

“S–tshow. S–tshow. I mean, they lose a ton of games.”

The Wizards hit the reset button this offseason and blew their entire roster up. The team most notably traded Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns and Kristaps Porzingis to the Boston Celtics in separate trades.

However, with a lack of veteran presences, the team has sorely been struggling. An overall lack of maturity has been a problem in the first quarter of this NBA season. While the Wizards were never projected to be great, progress was at least something people wanted to see.

“The greats, that won’t happen. It does not happen. You need good vets.”

Beverley is known for his hot takes and ability to instigate on the court. However, it feels very much like he is spot-on in his analysis of the Wizards at the moment. While calling them a ‘sh*tshow’ is a bit extreme, there has been very little to ride home about with the team.

The Wizards are a team desperately in need of some veterans to help keep some of their youth in check. Although there are plenty of games left, the likelihood of a complete turnaround is highly unlikely. The Wizards will likely have to wait a few years to see some real progress.

Both Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma are players that the Wizards hope can be pivotal pieces of their future. However, it may take some time to see the duo generate many wins together.
