After their victory over the Utah Jazz, the Phoenix Suns carry a 72 percent win percentage and will finish with a positive record for the first time since the 2013-2014 NBA season. The last time the Suns finished with a positive record was during the 2013-2014 season. Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, and Gerald Green led the 2013-2014 team.

The trio led the Suns to 48 wins putting them at the 9th seed in the Western Conference. Before this team, Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire led the 2009-2010 team to 54 wins. Forward to the 2019-2020 NBA season, the Suns had 34 wins, putting them at the 10th seed.

In the offseason, the Suns were able to trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder for Chris Paul. They received Chris Paul and Abdel Nader for Kelly Oubre Jr., Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque, and the Sun’s 2022 first-round pick. With the veteran presence of Chris Paul and young stars, such as Devin Booker, the team was destined for improvement.

Consequently, the Sun’s trio of Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton has led them to success. Chris Paul is averaging 16.3 points per game, along with 8.8 assists per game. However, his veteran presence on the court is what allows his team to shine.

Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton are both young players who show a lot of promise. They are perfect to coincide with a veteran player, such as Chris Paul. His coaching on the court allows Booker and Ayton to gain much-needed experience for their careers in the future.

Devin Booker is averaging 26.1 points per game and 4.5 assists per game. Along with this, he has been named Western Conference Player of the Week in the week of February 22.

Also, former first overall pick Deandre Ayton is carrying his load as the team’s big man. He is averaging 14.8 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game.

Overall, the Phoenix Suns are growing chemistry and showing their dominance as a future playoff team. As a result, they hold the second-best record in the NBA and will finish positive, looking forward to the playoffs as they continue the second half of the NBA season.
