On former teammate, James Poseys podcast, NBA Hall of Famer and all-time leading 3-point shooter Ray Allen revealed that LeBron James and his Big 3 Miami Heat were scared to death of [the Boston Celtics].
Allen referred to the Celtics teams that gave James and his squads a run for their money on numerous occasions, specifically against his Heat in the 2011 and 2012 playoffs.
Allen was traded to Boston in 2007 and faced James four times in the next five postseasons. Furthermore, Boston took down James Cavaliers in 2008 and 2010, which essentially drove him out of Cleveland and into Miami. James would get his revenge in 2011 and 2012. However, its no secret that those Celtics teams were a legitimate bump in the road for part of LeBrons career.
Following the 2012 playoff series that the Heat won over Boston in seven games, Allen joined forces with James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh in Miami. That is where he realized the Heats collective fear of the Celtics.
Amid Allens comments, the Heat and Celtics are coincidentally rekindling their rivalry in the Eastern Conference Finals. Theres plenty at stake in what should be a highly-competitive series comparable to the past matchups between the two teams.
The Miami Heat are currently up 2-0. Game three will take place on Saturday night.
