Reggie Jackson is looking to get paid this offseason. After a solid playoff performance so far this year, there will certainly be teams pursuing the Clippers’ guard this offseason. Jackson has been a solid producer for Los Angeles Clippers off the bench during these playoffs, especially in the Conference Finals without Kawhi Leonard.

The Boston College product has averaged an impressive 21.5 points per game this series. He’s also added 2.8 assists per game, 4.3 rebounds per game while simultaneously being a menace on defense – averaging 1.5 steals per game.

Paul George loves him

One thing that every team seems to love is a good locker room guy. Someone that everyone likes. According to Paul George, playing with Reggie Jackson is terrific.

“It’s just great to do it with someone you just genuinely love. We’re here having fun.”

A few variables to consider

As outlined by ESPN Insider Bobby Marks, there are a few things to consider when discussing Jackson’s free-agent situation.

  • The max the Clippers’ can offer is $10.1M per year. Has to be for two seasons, without an option
  • Jackson cannot earn more in a sign and trade
  • There are plenty of teams with cap space
  • The guard position is heavy in this years’ free agency class

With players like Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry, Dennis Schrder, and Mike Conley all free agents this year, there are certainly more established point guards available via free agency. That might not necessarily be a bad thing for Jackson, though.

If teams opt to go for the more established, bigger name point guards, a team willing to risk Reggie Jackson may sign him. While other teams are chasing the big-name free agents, Jackson could slip under the radar and receive a pretty good payday.
