Rich Paul thinks that LeBron James is the GOAT, while Michael Jordan is a close second. He claims that James had to endure more hardships than the former Chicago Bulls player.
Rich Paul’s take on the GOAT debate
The GOAT debate is familiar to any basketball fan, especially when it comes to James vs. Jordan. With the four-time MVP continuing to rack up milestones, such as surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time scoring list and being included in the “best point guard list,” the GOAT debate continues to flare up. Now, Paul is adding his two cents to the bonfire.
“LeBron is the first player to have to deal with a 24/7/365 news cycle of sports and opinions from those that’s not even capable or carry the expertise to give a valid opinion.”
Rich Paul
Paul’s primary argument on why James deserves the GOAT title more than Jordan is that the former had to take more hate. The Klutch Sports Group founder further states that he respects the Lakers player’s headstrong attitude, which usually doesn’t go over well with fans and onlookers.
“That’s whole ‘nother thing that Mike never had to deal with because his hardest critic was probably Peter Vecsey. I just think LeBron’s antlers is in platinum and Michael’s may be in gold.”
Rich Paul
The sports agent furthers his claims by stating that Jordan had no critics. Meanwhile, fans and the league constantly compare James to the former reigning champion.

“He had to be compared to Mike. Who did Mike have to be compared to?”
Rich Paul
Despite Paul’s possible bias for James, he brings up interesting points. The former Miami Heat player was inducted right after social media became more prominent. However, fans can only speculate how Jordan would have handled the press were he in James’ shoes.
Rich Paul is riling up the fanbases
Fans are going back and forth. Some defend the Windy City MVP, saying he could handle the criticism 24/7. Meanwhile, others list the former Miami Heat player’s achievements, like breaking the NBA scoring record.
Paul’s comment about Jordan not being compared to anyone had fans riled up, saying he was constantly compared to his generation’s GOATs.
Nevertheless, the two all-stars have been making waves in their own generations. There would be no way to prove whether James or Jordan would flourish in each other’s time. Despite that, fans still love to argue over who deserves the GOAT title.
