Rockets’ Bruno Caboclo Breaks Quarantine at NBA Bubble

VILLEURBANNE, FRANCE - AUGUST 16: Bruno Caboclo #50 of Brazil looks on during the International Friendly match between France and Brazil at The Astroballe on August 16, 2019 in Villeurbanne, France

Houston Rockets forward Bruno Caboclo has inadvertently broken quarantine. Now, he must isolate for eight straight days and undergo extensive coronavirus testing, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Upon entering the NBA’s restart bubble in Florida, the league confined players to their hotel rooms. They also must pass several coronavirus tests. Again, this initial quarantine period lasts more than 24 hours.

Despite the league’s dissemination of strict protocol to all players and staff members, Caboclo left his room during the initial quarantine period. While this may be true, he was reportedly unknowing of the regulations.

The Rockets play their opening matchup against the Mavericks on July 31. However, whether or not Bruno Caboclo can suit up depends on if he can test negative. The former first-round pick has averaged 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds throughout his six-year career.
