DENVER, CO - NOVEMBER 20: Russell Westbrook (0) of the Houston Rockets looks up at the clock late against the Denver Nuggets during the fourth quarter of Denver's 105-95 win on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.

In recent news, Houston Rockets’ point guard Russell Westbrook has tested positive for the Coronavirus.

With the season start still weeks away, this news shouldn’t be too stress-inducing. Given Westbrook’s age and good health, he is likely to shake the disease soon. However, the 9x All-Star made sure to remind everyone of the seriousness of the pandemic, via his social media.

An essential factor that Westbrook appears to understand is that even though healthy, younger people might be at much less risk, they still play a significant role in the pandemic. Protecting at-risk people needs to be the priority, which Russell expressed in this tweet.

Much of the country is strangely against the use of face masks. However, Russell Westbrook is trying to use his platform to remind everyone that the virus is real, dangerous, and should be treated with much caution.

The Houston Rockets play their first game against the Mavericks on July 31st.
